BOXING: Hamzah Butt is ready to pack a punch at Stamford Bridge next week.
The Southend based 27-year-old has been added to the Transatlantic Clash 2 fight card for next Friday.
And Butt feels well prepared for his forthcoming bout with Kane Morgan.
“Training has been going really well,” said Butt.
“Sparring has been going really well and I’ve been working on a lot of timing and rhythm.
“Strength and conditioning wise I’ve been working on my explosiveness and power and my sprint work.
“My fitness is really good and I’m in really good shape for this fight so I’m really excited.”
The fight will be the fourth of Butt’s professional career.
But he is expecting a stern test from his opponent at a venue which means a lot to his family.
“He’s very good and quite game but I’m gamer,” said Butt.
“I’m really looking forward to it and I’m excited to be at Stamford Bridge too.
“My dad’s a big Chelsea fan so it means a lot to him.”
Butt will therefore be eager to triumph.
And he hopes victory will enable him to keep on progressing in the sport.
“It’s going to be my fourth professional fight but long term I’m hoping for more exciting fights and I’d love to get out to Saudi,” said Butt.
“That’s a real target of mine and I want do the Brits proud.”
And Butt is also eager to please those closer to home as well.
“I’m a Southend fan,” said Butt.
“I do a bit with the club but I want to do more.
“One of my main sponsors are We Finance Any Car who do a lot with the club too which is great.
“I want to do the local area proud and hope to have a few Southend fans cheering me on along the way.”
