MANDY Cooper will be taking on the Manchester Marathon later this month to help raise funds for a mental health support group.

Mandy's son Eddy co founded Run Free - who use the power of sport to help those with mental health issues - back in 2020.

And she will now be taking on the 26.2 mile run to help Run Free continue their work in the local community.

Mandy explained:  "I was persuaded by my son Eddy to enter the Manchester marathon "as I'm not getting any younger".

"As I didn't have a charity place I wanted to raise money for Run Free.

"Life has had its challenges for us as a family in the last few years and running has been my coping strategy, which is why I am a great believer in the power of sport for mental health."

To sponsor Mandy, for the run on Sunday April 27, visit Run Free's social media accounts for more details.
