CLUB Kingswood’s first ever padel tournament proved to be a smash hit success.
Members packed out the courts at the Basildon venue during an event which raised close to £1,500 for the Mind of the Student mental health charity.
And Club’s Kingswood’s general manager Alex Owen was delighted with how the day went.
“We’re thrilled to say that our inaugural Charity Padel Tournament was a huge success,” said Alex.
“Players of all levels joined in the tournament, showcasing the inclusive and exciting nature of padel.
“As a multi award winning independent health and fitness club, we’re proud to offer our members the opportunity to enjoy this fast growing sport, in addition to the wide range of fitness facilities we already provide.”
SG Padel, who built and installed the padel courts, sponsored the event.
Sales director George Girling was pleased to play his part.
“It’s been amazing to have seen the popularity of padel since Club Kingswood opened their courts,” said George.
“I’m a member down here myself and the demand to play has been extremely high.
“This event has been brilliant and getting so many players out to play padel shows why it is such a social and positive sport.
“After our clubs open we love to continue supporting them in a number of ways. Their padel journey is not over once the court is built.”
