KEVIN Maher’s uncertain future at Southend United is set to be decided within the next 48 hours.
Maher led the Shrimpers to FA Trophy success at Wembley on Sunday but it remains unclear if he will be staying at Roots Hall.
The club’s owners made changes to the managerial structure towards the end of last season with John Still and Jason Demetriou making way and Oliver Gage joining as director of football.
Blues are also set to appoint a new head of recruitment with Jonathan Duckett favourite for the role.
However, it remains unclear if Maher will stay part of the set up and his future seems set to be discussed during a board meeting this afternoon.
Maher has been in charge of the Shrimpers since October 2021 and led the club to the play-off final last season.
Blues reached the play-offs again this season but suffered a 1-0 defeat at Scunthorpe United.
