Motor racing hopeful Luke Hilton looks to secure more success

The 18-year-old from Hockley has joined Nitrous Competitions for the 2026 season.

And Luke’s dad Daniel is looking forward to what lies in store after a mixed 2025.

“Last year we did the GB4 Championship which was a mixed bag of results but the pace was there” sad Daniel.

“This year we’ve gon3 back to the GB4 Championship while also testing F3.

“Luke has joined a new team this year, Nitrous Competitions.

“They own a British Superbike team and won the British Superbike title last year.

“They’ve now decided to start a single seater team and they’re throwing millions at it.

“They want to win trophies and headhunted Luke to put him in the seat.”

Luke remains determined to make the most of the opportunity and is also benefitting from a new team off the track too.

“He has a new team surrounding him,” said Daniel.

“It’s a fresh approach.

“He’s got a head driver coach, Roman Bilinski who is an F2 driver.

“We have a new marketing company who also work for Williams F1.

“It’s exciting and the plans are to do his best at GB4 but to start preparations for the British F3 championship next year as well.”

And so far the signs have been encouraging.

“Throughout winter testing Luke has been the fastest,” said Daniel.

“At Silverstone he got double-pole but due to a flag infringement he was put to the back at all three races.

“He came through with 61 overtakes and he’s massively excited for what’s to come.”

Luke continues to train hard and could soon be sampling even more memorable moments.

“There’s a lot going on and the driver coach wants him at the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone just to be in the Paddock,” said Daniel.

“It’s hugely exciting and hopefully this year will also entail commencing the testing at the European F1 tracks in the F3.”

But Luke’s main targets go way beyond this season.

“The long term goal is to be in the FIA F3 championship,” said Daniel.

“It’s the Formula One support race so if you’re doing that, which we hope to do in 2028, then you’re at every Formula One weekend.

“You’re in the paddock and that’s when you start to mix with the right people.”

However, Luke also has one other driving target this year.

“The funny thing is he still hasn’t passed his driving test,” said Daniel.

“ He hasn’t taken it yet and has his test in September.”
