THE Southend and District Netball League Cup Finals took place at Deanes School with three competitive matches rounding off an exciting season for local clubs.

In Division One, Manor Essex produced a dominant performance against Galaxy Phoenix, leading throughout the game before securing a convincing 54-38 victory.

The win completed a remarkable double for Manor, who also finished the season as league champions.

Division Two saw a closely fought contest between Hockley Kestrels and Southend Sapphires White.

The teams were level after the first quarter and remained within touching distance for much of the game but Hockley Kestrels pulled away in the closing stages to take a 33-27 win.

Another thrilling encounter followed in Division Three, where Galaxy Greensward faced Southend Sapphires Blue.

In a match that stayed competitive right until the final whistle, Galaxy Greensward emerged victorious with a 54-47 triumph.

Player of the Match awards were presented by league VIPs to Amelia Stanford of Manor in Division 1, Holly Hoswell-Sims of Hockley Kestrels in Division 2, and Christie Fawcett of Galaxy Greensward in Division 3.

The finals brought together players, supporters and officials from across the league, celebrating another successful season for netball in the Southend district.
