Josh Popoola on opting to sign for Southend United

JOSH Popoola says he is raring to go after signing for Southend United.

The skilful winger joined Blues after opting to leave Maidenhead United.

And he cannot wait to get going with the Shrimpers after becoming the first arrival since Kieron Dyer's appointment.

"It feels good to have joined and I'm raring to go," said Popoola.

"There's a new manager here and they have big ambitions.

"They want to rise up the leagues, they have good fans, good stadium and it's a big club.

"It feels like a good fit for me."

And Popoola is looking forward to working with Dyer.

"He used to be a midfielder as well so it's a good link to help me with my individual performances," said the winger.

"I'm very excited and I want to show the fans what I can do.

"I'll bring a lot of flair, a lot of skills plus goals and assists. "
