CANVEY Island boss John Batch feels his side have sown the seeds of a revival.
After a bleak run of five straight defeats, Gulls produced an outstanding battling display to earn a goalless draw at fellow play-off hopefuls Sutton United last weekend.
And they continued in similar vein with a 2-2 draw against a Southend United XI packed with trialists at Park Lane’s Wednesday night friendly.
“Both were decent performances,” said Batch.
“I’m claiming that we’ve turned the corner but to my mind we’re a good way round it.”
But Batch will be forced to make changes for tomorrow’s visit to another side still harbouring ambitions of making the play-offs, AFC Hornchurch.
