RICHIE Foran has had his contract with Southend United cancelled by mutual consent.
The left winger, who can also play up front, endured a nightmare spell at Roots Hall –scoring twice in 23 games before falling out his favour.
His last appearance for the Shrimpers came in October 2007 and he has immediately joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle after being snapped up by their manager Terry Butcher.
He has also signed former Shrimpers loanee, Eric Odhiambo, from Leicester City.
“It was the right time for Richie to move on,” explained Blues boss Steve Tilson.
“He had a back spasm towards the end of his time here but I think he wanted to get back to playing in Scotland and for his sake I hope it goes well for him at Inverness.”
