I hope Southend United are not going to miss out on signing Theo Robinson.

He was excellent towards the end of last season and certainly made a big difference to the team.

Unlike our other forwards he always managed to avoid injury and I hope we are going to bid for Theo now he has become available at Watford.

Without him, Dorian Dervite and possibly Peter Clarke as well the team would be much weaker than last season and we could struggle which would be a shame after the way things improved towards the end of last year.

Money needs to be made available for the likes of Theo to come in and at least one more winger and a left back.

Steve Tilson has proved himself to be an excellent manager and I just hope he’s given more funds than last season to try to get us higher up the table.

REGRETTABLY as a loyal Blues season card holder and fan of many years, the current lack of creditable information regarding players for the coming season is showing signs of 2008.

All over again, there is very little information regarding Theo Robinson, Dorian Dervite, or Peter Clarke coming out of Roots Hall, let alone any new quality signings, except we can’t afford Dan Harding and no signings this month.

But we are an ambitious club, so says our chairman, well to get promotion next season we are going to be competing against, Charlton, Southampton, Norwich, Leeds, Millwall, MK Dons.

Not only do we need not to lose the three above, but must add at least a further three quality experienced players to our squad.

I just can’t see this happening, so another season, in League One looms.
