BOYCE Hill’s female section held their spring meeting with 66 members taking part and finding the course in excellent condition.

Three winning scores were returned, the champion being Margaret Cook with 39 points on countback from Caroline Wagstaff and Mandy Taylor.

Jan Hubbard was fourth with 36 from Pauline Clarke, who beat Judith Smith on countback to take fifth place after both returned 35 points.

Four ladies, Wendy Martin, Sue Kaye, Hayley Allen and Rose Belcher, posted 34, the latter taking seventh place on countback.

The longest drive on the seventh was by Caroline Wagstaff, while nearest the line on the 13th fairway was won by Iris Balls.

Maureen Smith won the nearest the pin on the 18th and Melanie Perrin (5) took the best scratch Stableford with 30 points.

Teams of four players competed for the afternoon Stableford competition. The front nine winners were the lady captain Jackie Soilleux, accompanied by Jenny Darwin, Melanie Perrin and Sue Kaye with 42 points.

The back nine winners were Sue Hilton, Sally Garvey, Wendy Martin and Iris Balls with 47.

The Winter Eclectic competition was won by Melanie Perrin with Sue Hilton and Jenny Darwin in joint second place.
