A FRACTURED ankle eventually turned into a lucky break for Canvey based Ian Wells.
The injury brought the 31-year-old’s football career to an end but also led to him taking up power-lifting. And, less than a year later, Wells has been crowned the British unequipped champion.
He lifted 160kg to take first prize in Birmingham.But that was just the latest success for Wells.
For he has also won the Anglian Open and the East Midlands Championships as well as finishing second in the equipped British bench pass.
