FORMER West Ham player Stuart Slater is determined to keep it up to raise funds for Little Havens hospice.
The ex-Hammer is reknown-ed for his keepy-uppies and is now determined to use his footballing skills to boost the Thundersley hospice’s coffers.
Slater, who featured for the Hammers between 1986 and 1992, is planning to juggle the ball using his feet from the Irons’ Chadwell Heath training ground to their Upton Park home.
“I have meant to do something for a while,” said 40-year-old Slater.
“I thought about what I could do for charity and decided I wanted to go for a big one.
“A lot of people remember me for doing keepy-uppies when I was a player, so I thought I would have a go at doing that for charity.”
Slater, who played as a winger and a forward, is already in training for the bid, which will take him approximately seven miles as the crow flies.
The former player, who also appeared for Celtic, Ipswich and Watford in his league career, is planning to do his charity keepy-uppies in May 2010.
And he is hoping for it to coincide with West Ham’s final game of the season against Manchester City on Sunday, May 9.
