Canvey'S Concord Rangers established themselves as clear favourites to finish runners-up in Ryman One North tonight.
They drew 2-2 at one of their main challengers, East Thurrock United.
Goal machine Lyle Taylor gave Concord, who now visit third-placed Wingate and Finchley on Saturday before hosting East Thurrock on Easter Monday, the lead at Rookery Hill.
Max Cornhill levelled and, after Nicky Cowley had put the visitors ahead again, an own goal earned the hosts a point.
In the same division an early goal from Lee Hodges earned Tilbury a 1-1 draw at Potters Bar Town.
In the Blue Square Premier, relegation-doomed Grays Athletic crashed 4-0 at home to play-off hopefuls York City.
But, by no means for the first time this winter, the weather was the main winner on the night.
Almost the entire Ryman Premier programme was washed out including the Billericay Town v Sutton United, Ashford Town (Mx) v Canvey Island and Aveley v Hastings games.
The entire four-match Essex Senior League programme was postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
Hullbridge Sports v Burnham Ramblers, Basildon United v Barkingside and Southend Manor v London APSA were among the victims.
