AQUATELS has picked up with the better weather and has seen fish being caught from different parts of the lake. Jack Cox had the biggest fish of the week with a 30lb 9oz ghostie from the beach at range. New season ticket holder Liam Graham fished his second trip of the year and banked his first fish with a 29lb 4oz common from the south beach. Day ticket anglers have also been catching a few stockies at the Basildon lake. The Carping for Cancer weekend turned out very succesfully with more than £5,000 raised for the Orchid Male Cancer Appeal. Apart from the money raised, a few fish were caught with Billy Flowers fishing the back strait and taking top spot with seven fish to 18lb.

Others among the fish included Bill Strange with a 17lb-er from knob point, Scott Comber with a 13lb-er, Paul Butler with a 20lb common and Andy Reynolds with fish of 18lb 6oz, 13lb 7oz and 22lb 4oz from the oaks.

Aquatels season tickets are now on sale for this year. Prices have been kept the same for the third year running at £210 for adults and £115 for all concessions.
