THUNDERSLEY’S King John School have reigned supreme on the team front.
On the soccer front, the Shipwrights Drive School competed over two days in the Castle Point and Rochford Cups at Canvey Island Football Club.
They started by playing Deanes in the year nine final.
And King John triumphed in a thrilling affair in a penalty shoot-out.
King John’s year eight soccer team lost to Rayleigh’s FitzWimarc in the final.
On the second day the King John year 11 team met Benfleet’s Appleton School and again came out on top with the year 10s losing to Fitz. But it wasn’t just at the sport of soccer King John excelled.
The school’s year 11 rugby team tied with FitzWimarc for the top honours in the district final.
