SCRATCH golfer Darren Lee is on red-hot form after winning his second successive medal when he took Rochford Hundred’s division one January Saturday award.

He finished with a four under par gross 67 to just see off the challenge from Mark Walden (73-5=68) and Paul Bawden (74-6=68).

Lee only dropped two shots and quickly repaired the damage thanks to six birdies plus 10 pars.

Walden birdied four holes and parred eight but a double bogey on the par four second hole cost him victory. Bawden helped himself to a trio of birdies and nine pars.

Roger Fearn also continued his recent good form following up his midweek medal success by taking division two.

Twelve pars saw Fearn to 77-13=64 and the best net score of the day but only pipping Paul Hickson (80-16=64) on countback.

Hickson also parred 12 holes but three double bogeys on the back nine proved very constly.

Third placed Lindsay Cunningham had a dozen pars in his 78-11=67. Division three went to Mick Hobbs who parred eight holes in his 84-17=67 and a two shot victory over Derek Wiltshire (86-17=69) with Malcolm Treglohan (95-17=78) in third spot.

Rochford's midweek winter medal was won by Roger Fearn who enjoyed a birdie and five pars for 86-13=73. Mark Amis was runner-up on 87-12=75 and Bob Semaine third after 86-10=76.
