THUNDERSLEY’S Jason White has ridden his way to the top of the national male elite road rankings.

White, who runs JD Cycles in Benfleet, has secured seven victories already this season.

And he is thrilled to have worked his way in to the number one position.

“It’s certainly nice to be top of the rankings and I’m pleased with how my season is going,” said White.

“I’ve been consistent in my racing and have got some good results so that has obviously been reflected by being number one now.”

White’s results are made even more remarkable by his training schedule which is far lighter than many of his racing rivals.

“I run my own business and have a family support so I probably only really train around 10 hours a week,” said White, who has been taking part in the Halfords Tour Series around Britain in recent weeks.

“It’s probably around a third of what most of the others guy do but it’s working well for me at the moment and long may it continue.”
