THORPE Hall’s lady captain Shirley Dalman played host for her captain’s day during which an 18 hole Stableford competition was played in the morning amid sun and showers.

And, after lunch, teams of three took part in a nine hole waltz followed by a splendid dinner and prize-giving.

The morning winner with 37 points was Mandy Grant (handicap 20) and in close second – also on 37 points but losing out on countback – was SallyAnn Jackson (26).

The scratch prize was awarded to Helen Morgan (9) while the past captains prize went to Chris Richards.

She also won nearest the pin on hole 13 and Sue Carrington was nearest the pin on hole three.

After that, the ladies played for the Froom Cup with charitable donations being given for the Lifeboats and Mandy Grant continued her winning streak to take the cup.

The Harries 36 hole Eclectic competition has also taken place and after braving torrential rain the winner of the trophy with a remarkable score of net 74 was Lucille Palmer-Moth (9). Last month's medal competition has also been held and in the silver division Heather Bell came first with a net 74.

The bronze division was won by Margaret Easton who achieved a net 73.
