Lowestoft Town 5, Concord Rangers 0

CONCORD joint manager Danny Scopes said everyone at the club needed to “have a look at themselves” after they were smashed by table-topping Lowestoft.

It was a long journey home for the Beachboys on Saturday evening after they conceded five with out reply in front of a crowd of 701 in Suffolk.

Lubo Guentchev opened the scoring on 16 minutes, and Michael Frew struck on 37 then 39 minutes to give the Trawlerboys a 3-0 advantage at the interval.

Matt Nolan added a fourth 10 minutes after the restart, before Guentchev completed the rout with 20 minutes to go.

That sealed a win which put the league favourites top of the pile on Saturday night.

But it left Concord second from bottom in the table and still searching for their first win of the campaign.

And it was hard to take for a Concord side missing a host of players through injury including key centre back Steve King, and talismanic top-scorer Tony Stokes.

Scopes, left, said: “We were missing key players, but even if we had gone their with a full strength side it would still have been difficult.

“But now the players and the management need to look at themselves, and we all need to find a way to bounce back from this.”
