Billericay Town 6, Kingstonian 0

BILLERICAY claimed the best result of the day with a stunning demolition of Kingstonian in front of a bumper crowd of 429 at New Lodge on Saturday.

It was a result which included an impressive debut, and first goal for a new striker, and a brace for a Town favourite, and one which put Town nicely poised to make an assault on the leading pack in the coming weeks.

Paul Semakula, who excelled in a holding midfield role, got the party started when he opened the scoring on 19 minutes.

Fans’ favourite Rob Swaine then claimed an eight-minute brace to give the hosts a 3-0 lead at the interval.

The K’s rallied at the start of the second half, but they conceded three with seven minutes to go to give the hosts a haul of 10 goals from their last two matches.

Jay May scored the fourth on 83 minutes, before Courtney White, who joined Town from Olympian side Castle United in the summer, opened his account for the club two minutes later.

Flying winger Harrison Chatting added a sixth on the stroke of full time to seal an empathic win.

There was also a debut for Adam Thompson – who has just been signed from Staines Town – at centre back, and he helped Town keep their first clean sheet of the campaign.

Billericay secretary Ian Ansell said: “Kingstonian were poor but we just did not let them get into the game. Rob Swaine, in particular, was excellent. And Paul Semakula played well too.

“There was a bit of a response from them early in the second half.

“But they have not had the greatest of starts to the season, and we have taken advantage of that.

“We gave ourselves a good lead at half-time, and then added three in the last 10 minutes as they chased the game.

“It was a great result and has done wonders for our goal difference.”
