SEAN Clohessy is urging his Southend United team-mates to relish the pressure of a promotion push.

With just 10 games of the season to go, Blues sit fourth in the League Two table.

And Clohessy is keen for his side to impress when it most matters.

“We have to enjoy this kind of pressure and not be affected by it,” said the 25-year-old right-back.

“All the games are really important at this stage because we only have 10 left to play but we just have to go and keep on doing what got us in to this position in the first place.”

Blues’ next chance to impress comes at Hereford United this weekend.

The Bulls currently just one place and three points above the relegation zone.

But Clohessy, who is an ever present in the Southend starting line-up this season, is taking nothing for granted.

“They’ve done well in their last two or three games and are fighting for their lives so I think that makes them dangerous opposition for us this weekend,” said Clohessy.

“They have a new manager and won at Morecambe in their last game.

“So we will need to play well to beat them and bounce back from the disappointment of drawing with Accrington.”
