NORTHLANDS Park Road lake has been fishing well with plenty of big-sized carp being pulled from the water.
Scott Bedford bagged an 18lb 6oz common, Pete Jenkins an 18lb common and Tony King an 18lb 8oz common.
But the man to beat at the moment is Basildon-based carper Jamie Wall, who has amassed a staggering 20 specimen-sized carp from the road lake in the past two weeks.
These include a dozen or so upper doubles and six or seven 20 pounders, including a common of 24lb 1oz and a fantastic 29lb 14oz common carp known as cut tail.
The cafe lake is also fishing well with plenty of action all around the lake, carp from 7lb to 15lb have been reported and for those anglers that target other species, plenty of bream up to 7lb have graced the banks.
Because of the shallow margins all around this lake, feeder/method feeder tactics are the way to go on this water.
Jimmy and Holly Liana fished a session at Gloucester Park where Holly landed her first ever carp – an 18lb common.
Holly also caught numerous roach on float fished maggot.
Jimmy thought he would go one better and landed a 20lb common from the Basildon fishery.
Loughton-based carper John Whitmore landed 15 carp from 12lb to 20lb on an overnight session.
Whitmore’s successful method as always is feeding/spoding hemp and maize to the far margin.
