CHRIS Powell will be bidding to become the first ever Southend United manager to win his first three games in charge tomorrow.
The Shrimpers host table-topping Wigan Athletic at Roots Hall this weekend.
But Powell – who has beaten Scunthorpe and Peterborough in his first two games as Blues boss – is purely focusing on making sure his side produce another good performance.
“I’m not really worried about plaudits and records if I’m honest,” said Powell.
“If they come your way they come your way.
“But obviously it would be great to get another win because we’re playing the league leaders and it would really put a marker down for the group and the club.
“We will be tested but we want to have more highs.”
The Shrimpers head into tomorrow’s game sitting 15th in League One.
