SOUTHEND United midfielder Dru Yearwood wants this weekend to be the best of his fledging career.
The 18-year-old is keen to help the Shrimpers see off Oxford United on Saturday, 24 hours before attending the Football League Awards where he has been nominated for League One Apprentice of the Year.
But Yearwood has his sights set on a triple celebration.
“It would be great to get the three points and to then win the award as well, but I also want to get a goal,” said Yearwood.
“I wouldn’t say it was playing on my mind but I’m overdue one and it would be great to get my first at Oxford.
“It’s a big game and to even be nominated for the award is great but if I could win that and the game then it would be the best weekend yet.”
