SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell wants to banish his side’s barren goalscoring run on the road at Oxford United this weekend.
Blues have yet to net from open play in Powell’s six away games and have now not scored in the second half of an away game since September.
But Powell wants the wretched record to end at the Kassam Stadium.
“I found out about the second half statistic just before the game on Saturday, it’s very bizarre and I obviously want it to end,” said Powell.
“I haven’t been involved in all of them but we certainly couldn’t have come much closer than we did at Blackburn so hopefully at Oxford we can get the goals we need to win.
"That needs changing or our fans might start going home at half-time on an away game!"
Blues have now gone 17 away games without scoring in the second half.
