Injured - Southend United defender Jason Demetriou has been out since April
SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Bond has revealed Jason Demetriou will need to manage his knee following his return to training.
Demetriou, who has been out of action since April, had two operations on his knee last season.
And Bond knows the situation must continued to be monitored if Demetriou is to avoid another spell on the sidelines.
"Jason trained with us again today which is good but he has to manage his knee now," said Bond.
"When he’s fit and flying he won’t be training every day.
"We will have to manage his situation but it’s always good to see him out with us.
"I like him a lot."
Demetriou, 31, made 25 appearances for Blues last term.
