SOUTHEND United manager Kevin Bond is bracing himself for a tricky test at in-form Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow.
The Chairboys have taken eight points from their first four games of the League One season.
And Bond feels Gareth Ainsworth’s side will be tough to beat this weekend.
“Wycombe have had a tremendous start to the season and they have a fantastic work ethic,” said Bond.
“They’re really, really together and the manager has done a wonderful job with them.
“This will be a really, really difficult game and we will have to earn anything we get there.”
Wycombe are currently fourth in the standings and Bond feels the Chairboys’ spirit makes them dangerous opponents.
“They never leave anything out there, they give everything and fight until the end,” said Bond.
“They pick up late goals and it’s fantastic for spirit.
“It will be a tough game for us but I hope it’s a tough game for them too.
“They’ve had a go in the transfer market too so it’s not like the Wycombe of old and they are a really decent outfit.”
