ECHOSPORT talks to Leyton Orient fan Aaron Patel ahead of tonight’s game in the Leasing.com Trophy at Brisbane Road.

After last season’s promotion, what have you made of Orient’s start to life in League Two?

“So far, it’s been a decent start.

“Of course, being back in the EFL was going to provide its challenges.

“But I think we’ve started OK.

“August wasn’t a bad month and hopefully we’ll kick on.”

Orient are currently 15th in the League Two standings with eight points from the first six games. What are the hopes for the O’s this season?

“I hope Orient can stay in the EFL.

“It’s very important we maintain our EFL status. Also, a nice FA Cup run wouldn’t be so bad.”

How seriously do you think Orient will be taking the Leasing.com Trophy and does it mean that much to the fans?

“While it may not be the pinnacle of cup competitions in football, any silverware is nice.

“I think it’s also a chance to give youth academy players some minutes, which I think is absolutely important.”

Who would you say is the Orient dangerman Southend need to be keeping an eye out for?

“James Brophy is always a handful.

“He’s always looking to get forward and beat his man so he would be the main one in my opinion.”

What’s the team news for tonight’s game. Do you expect there to be many changes?

“Jamie Turley is still out from what I understand, which is a shame. Jobi McAnuff is a long way from making a full recovery too but hopefully we’ll see some rotation against Southend.”
