SOUTHEND United’s assistant manager Gary Waddock has challenged those involved at Leyton Orient tonight to show they should feature regularly.
Blues, who have lost all six of their League One matches this season, head to Brisbane Road for the opening group game of the Leasing.com Trophy.
And Waddock wants a strong showing from the Shrimpers.
“There will possibly be chances to players who have been on the fringes and with the results we’ve had all of the places are up for grabs,” said Waddock.
“So if you get the shirt tonight and put in a good performance then it puts you in a good position for the League campaign.”
Liam Ridgewell, Rob Kiernan and Richard Taylor are among those pushing to be involved.
