SOUTHEND United’s Isaac Hutchinson has apologised following his red card at Leyton Orient.
The 19-year-old midfielder was sent off by referee Christopher Pollard after pushing the O’s Dale Gorman to the floor with both hands on the stroke of half-time at Brisbane Road.
And Hutchinson took to Twitter after the game to say sorry for his action which left Blues playing with 10 men for the entire second half.
“I want to apologise to everyone involved with Southend tonight,” tweeted Hutchinson.
“I’ve let myself down, I let the fans down and I let my team mates down and I take full responsibility for this.
“I reacted in a stupid way and I’ve never been so embarrassed.
“Thank you for the away support, it’s always appreciated and once again I am sorry.
Blues went on to lose Leasing.com Trophy clash 2-0 as their poor run of results continued.
