SOUTHEND United's caretaker Gary Waddock is hopeful Nathan Ralph will be fit to face Shrewsbury Town tomorrow night.
The left-back missed Saturday's 3-3 draw against Fleetwood Town with a hamstring problem.
But Ralph was back in training today and Waddock is keeping his fingers crossed the defender will be available for selection.
"Nathan has done some work with the group today," said Waddock.
"We’re waiting to see if there’s any reaction but hopefully there won’t be."
Mark Milligan also missed Saturday's draw with a hamstring problem.
But Waddock does not expect the Shrimpers skipper to be back in time to face the Shrews.
"Milly has trained with Ben today but Saturday was too early for him and I think this one might be too," said Waddock.
"We don’t want to throw him back him until he’s 100 per cent right so Saturday is more realistic really."
