SOUTHEND United defender John White will undergo surgery later this week after suffering another broken arm in Saturday’s 1-0 win at MK Dons.

White broke the same arm during the memorable 2-1 victory against Sunderland on the final day of last season.

And the centre-back is frustrated to be facing another spell on the sidelines.

White tweeted: “Gutted this has happened for a second time, I always thought I had strong bones until this year.

“But Saturday was a great result for everyone involved with the club and a great platform to build on.”

It is not yet known how long White - who is the Shrimpers’ longest-serving player - will be out for.
