SOUTHEND United’s caretaker manager Gary Waddock feels ‘drastic action’ is needed to get the Shrimpers back on track.
Blues - who were beaten 4-1 by fellow strugglers AFC Wimbledon on Saturday - have picked up just four points in 12 games this term.
And Waddock believes big changes must happen if Southend are to recover from their shocking start.
“Whoever takes over the reigns, some drastic action needs to take place to turn things around,” said Waddock.
“I don’t know who will be appointed but the chairman will appoint whoever he feels is right.”
But Waddock does not think he will be in charge of Blues at Tranmere Rovers on Friday.
“I’m not sure I’ll be in a position to pick that team,” he added.
