YOU would expect after a result like the one we had at Peterborough United to get a good night’s sleep as a manager, but that wasn’t the case at all.

Of course I was delighted with the 4-1 victory and moving up to fifth in the table but decisions you have to make are still racing through your mind.

Anton Ferdinand, who has been a real key player for us this season, missed out on Tuesday with a calf problem and we should get his scan results back today.

That will tell us more about the injury but there’s a chance he could be back on Saturday and that gives me a decision to make.

Ryan Inniss was thrown in at the deep end at Peterborough but he really stood up to it and performed well.

Will Atkinson is now available again after completing his three match suspension, David Mooney is fit again and scored twice for the under 21s against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday, while Stephen McLaughlin isn’t far off now either so it’s getting tougher and tougher to select the matchday 18.

It’s what you want as a manager but it’s tough and I would like to be able to give Luke Amos an opportunity as well.

Luke was about to come on when we were 3-0 up at Peterborough but when they got a goal back I changed my mind and went for Luke O’Neill.

It was one of those decisions you have to make quickly but I wanted Luke’s debut to be a nice experience and I think it was a good choice to make.

Luke’s a good player and his chance will come.

He’s someone all the other players are excited by and they want him to get onto the pitch as well.

But our midfield are all playing extremely well right now and it’s going to be hard for Will - who has been playing well - to get back into the starting line-up now, let alone Luke.
