SOUTHEND United are interested in signing former Leyton Orient winger Jordan Maguire-Drew, Echosport understands.
The 23-year-old was released by the O's at the end of last season having previously been at Brisbane Road since 2019.
But it is believed he has been recommended to Blues boss Phil Brown by Josh Coulson who joined the Shrimpers earlier this summer after also being let go by the O's.
Maguire-Drew scored 12 goals in 69 games for Orient and finished last season on loan at League Two side Crawley Town.
The winger, who can also play as a number 10, came through the youth ranks at Brighton and has spent time on loan with Wrexham, Coventry, Lincoln and Dagenham & Redbridge.
