ECSTATIC England fans are celebrating Gareth Southgate's side reaching the final of Euro 2020 across south-east Essex this evening.

An extra time winner from Harry Kane secured the Three Lions a 2-1 win against Denmark at Wembley.

Echo:

And the victory was met with scenes of joy by those watching in the Railway Pub in Prittlewell with many - including passionate fan Chris Steele - now expecting England to go on and win Sunday's final against Italy.

"I was a bit worried when we went 1-0 down but we’ve come back and we’re going to go and win it now," said Steele.

"I don’t really know what else to say but I’ve never seen England get to a final before and it means so much."

Echo:

The win was far from straightforward for England though as the Danes took the lead on the half hour mark with Mikkel Damsgaard firing home a fine free-kick.

However, an own goal from Simon Kjaer levelled the scores six minutes before the break and Southgate's side completed their comeback 14 minutes into extra time with Kane firing home the rebound after seeing his penalty saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

But Ryan Creasey felt England fully deserved the win.

Echo:

"We played very well and I thought we were the better team," said Creasey.

"We could and probably should have had another penalty but it’s coming home.

"Italy are quite a strong side but we’ve only just conceded for the first time in the tournament and we’re strong too.

"I think we’ve got this, I really do."

Echo:

And a jubilant Sinclair Walton was quick to praise the part manager Southgate played in the win.

"Tactically he got on spot on and he got the changes right too," said Walton.

"We didn’t give them much possession and I thought we did brilliantly."

Echo:

But it was a nervy watch for many supporters, including Scott Wheeler

"It was very nervy but this is massive for us," said Wheeler.

"Being a Southend fan we haven’t had much to cheer but this brings the country together and means so much.

"Bring on the final."
