Not coming in - Ian Hendon will not be Southend United's new first team coach
IAN Hendon will not be Southend United's new first team coach.
The former Leyton Orient and Barnet boss had been due to become part of Phil Brown's backroom team at Roots Hall.
But Brown has now confirmed Hendon will not be coming to the club.
"Ian Hendon came in yesterday and apologised," said Brown.
"For personal reasons he can’t take the job.
"It’s disappointing because he’s been helping with the preparations for pre-season for the last two or three weeks now.
"It’s down to personal reasons but I’m without a first team coach again now."
