EXCITED England supporters will be heading to Southend United’s Roots Hall ground for a special showing of England’s Euro 2020 final.

Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions will be gunning for glory against Italy at Wembley on Sunday night.

And 1,500 fans will be watching the action from the home of the Shrimpers after tickets sold out in just one day.

The event has been organised by Essex Sporting Events and co-owners Jamie and Harry are expecting an evening to remember.

“It’s going to be fantastic and we’re so excited to be able to bring this to Southend,” said Jamie, who works for HJ Promotions.

“I came up with the idea after struggling to find somewhere to be able to watch it and the response has been great.

“We’ve got 1,500 fans coming and the atmosphere is going to be great.

“We wanted to make this even better than the Box Parks everyone will have seen around London and I think we’ve done that.”

Fans will watch from the car park at Roots Hall and a unique atmosphere is expected to be generated.

“We’ve got huge screens showing the game on a six metre video wall, there’s live music, food and drink and confetti cannons to be let off when England hopefully score,” said Jamie.

“We’ve worked really hard to put this on and we will also be announcing some special guests.”
