Back in - Will Atkinson will be training with Southend United on Monday
WILL Atkinson will be back at Southend United for the start of pre-season training on Monday.
The 32-year-old made 173 appearances during a four year spell with the Shrimpers before leaving in the summer of 2017.
But Blues boss Phil Brown confirmed Atkinson would be returning to Boots & Laces next week.
“Will Atkinson will be in for the start of pre-season training on Monday,” said Brown.
“We’ve signed some experienced players this summer but Will still has youthful experience I’m sure and will be keen to show what he can do.”
Atkinson started the Shrimpers’ memorable 2015 League Two play-off final win against Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley and has played for Mansfield Town, Port Vale and Alfreton since leaving.
