FORMER Derby County goalkeeper Emmanuel Idem is to train with Southend United this week.
The 22-year-old is without a club after leaving the Rams.
And Blues boss Phil Brown is looking forward to welcoming the shot-stopper to Boot & Laces.
“He’s going to come in and have a look at us,” said Brown.
“He turned down a contract at Derby and we will be looking at him.”
And Brown must also decide whether or not to send Harry Seaden out on loan.
“We’ve had a couple of half sniffs for Harry to go out and that could be an option,” said Brown.
“It would get him game time under his belt but Harry is a good number two stroke number one so he’s there to fight for the shirt if he wants it.”
Idem also spent time on loan with Canvey Island in January 2020.
