Back with Blues - former Southend United midfielder Will Atkinson has returned to the Shrimpers for pre-season training this week
WILL Atkinson has made an impressive start to his Southend United return.
The energetic midfielder has been at back at Boots & Laces for pre-season training this week.
And he has already caught the eye of Blues boss Phil Brown.
“Will has been absolutely on the money,” said Brown.
“He was at the front of everything - the sprints, the running, the distance training we did and with the footballs too.
“He looked like he had never been away in truth and still looks the same age he did when he first joined.”
The 32-year-old made 174 appearances for the Shrimpers and started the 2015 League Two play-off final against Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley before moving on just two years later.
