WEST Ham moved out of the Premiership bottom three after beating Bolton Wanderers 3-1 at Upton Park.
Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez put the Hammers in front after nine minutes from a free kick, before adding a second 11 minutes later.
Mark Noble put the Irons firmly in the driving seat in the 29th minute after being fed by Tevez.
Gary Speed pulled a consolation goal back for the Trotters on 67 minutes, but it was not enough to give Sammy Lee a win in his first game in charge of Bolton following the resignation of Sam Allardyce.
The win lifts West Ham to 17th place, three points clear of Wigan.
Alan Curbishley's Hammers head to Old Trafford next weekend in their final game looking to complete their great escape from relegation to the Championship.
