ADRIAN came into West Ham United’s side at Manchester City yesterday, and he should keep his place when Chelsea visit the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Spanish goalkeeper only made his first Premier League appearance of the season because Joe Hart couldn’t face his parent club, but he was excellent.

He made some great saves and didn’t put a foot wrong in the 2-1 defeat, whereas Hart has made a few mistakes since his loan move in the summer.

If Adrian doesn’t start against Chelsea then I don’t know what he has to do to regain his status as West Ham’s first choice goalkeeper.

A lot of people were expecting the Hammers to concede a lot of goals against the Premier League frontrunners after the heavy defeat at Everton, but Adrian and Angelo Ogbonna, the goalscorer, were two big positives for David Moyes.

Hart was at fault for a few of the goals at Everton, especially Wayne Rooney’s goal from his own half, and it would be a big statement for Moyes to put him on the bench for a few games.

It was an improved performance from West Ham at the Etihad Stadium, but I think it only papers over a few of the cracks.

The club is in a difficult period and the run of fixtures don’t get any easier, with Chelsea and Arsenal being the next opponents.

I don’t think West Ham can afford to lose both and it is important for Moyes to get some points on the board.

Moyes has got a bit of a performance from his team now, after yesterday, and they were very organised. But that is what you are going to get with Moyes.

It’s now a case of putting a run together because since replacing Slaven Bilic he has only secured one point from a possible 12, which isn’t good enough.
