WEST Ham United claimed a 2-1 win over Ipswich Town in front of 4,175 travelling fans.
Club record signing Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic were on target for the Hammers at Portman Road.
Manuel Pellegrini’s charges took the lead inside three minutes, with an unmarked Anderson heading home a dangerous Ryan Fredericks cross.
However, the Championship side were soon on level terms as striker Ellis Harrison soon a cool, casual flick past Hammers debutant Lukasz Fabianski.
The visiting defence stood firm as Harrison looked to put his new side in front, with the striker heading a cross from former West Ham striker Freddie Sears against the post.
After the break, substitute Robert Snodgrass forced a smart save from Bartosz Bialkowski.
The Hammers grabbed the winner in the 70th minute when the lively Arnautovic, who captained the away side, burst through the middle and very coolly slotted home.
