WEST Ham United completed their pre-season preparations by beating French side Angers SCO.
Javier Hernandez grabbed the only goal of the game in Grodig, Austria.
Summer signing Felipe Anderson was thwarted early on, but the winner came midway through the first half.
Hernandez, who has only recently returned from holiday following his stint at the World Cup with Mexico, got his name on the scoresheet with a typical poacher's finish.
The frontman found the top corner of the net by sliding home an Aaron Cresswell cross.
Michail Antonio should have doubled the east London club’s lead in the second half, but the winger sent a 12-yard effort over the crossbar.
However, the Hammers were not to be truly threatened defensively and will go into next weekend’s Premier League season opener at Liverpool on the back of another victory and clean sheet.
