Ben Duckett continued his love affair with Lahore as his one-day best 167 lifted England to 386 for five in their dead rubber against Sri Lanka.

England are bidding for a consolation win after three successive defeats spelled the end of their tri-series final hopes in Pakistan and they got to an imposing score, largely thanks to Duckett.

The left-hander made it back-to-back hundreds at the Gaddafi Stadium, where he now has three centuries in four innings, and put on 163 with fellow opener Tom Banton and 107 with England captain Harry Brook.

Banton made his third fifty-plus score of the tour before dragging on to his stumps for 74, while Brook promoted himself to number three to make 44 off 34 balls before toe-ending a ramp back to Asitha Fernando.

Will Jacks, Jordan Cox and Sam Curran were all shoved up ahead of usual number three batter Joe Root as England looked to consolidate their position and the trio all made useful cameos.

Cox thrashed 43 off 27 balls before holing out from the final ball of the innings, with Sam Curran finishing unbeaten on 21 off 12 deliveries.

Eshan Malinga was the most expensive of Sri Lanka’s seven bowlers, leaking 101 from 10 overs, with Asitha Fernando taking two for 63.

Sri Lanka will take on Pakistan in Saturday’s final but will be looking for a third consecutive win, a run started by them chasing down 430 to beat England in Rawalpindi last week.
