A POWER cut left Castle Point Council without phones this morning.

The council offices, on Kiln Road, Benfleet suffered a power cut shortly after 9am.

A statement on the council’s website said: “We are experiencing a issue with our phones after having had a power outage. Please bear with us as we rectify the issue.

“Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause.”

Power was restored by 11am.

Power outage? someone has been watching far too many american TV programmes. A issue? surely an issue?

I do wish these publicly paid numpities whose job it is to communicate could speak and write English properly.
