A GROUP of five people were injured on the mud flats near Southend Pier.

Southend Coastguard joined Southend RNLI’s inshore lifeboat team to help the five at about 6.45pm last night.

They were found with minor cuts to the legs and feet. They were helped ashore by coastguard team, who gave first aid and safety advice.
