Nightmare neighbour finally evicted

First published in News

A NEIGHBOUR from hell has finally been evicted from her flat after a year-long fight with Basildon Council.

Sara Penlington has been permanently barred from her council flat at 118 Clay Hill Road, Basildon, after she made her neighbours’ lives a misery by alleged drug dealing and wild parties.

The council managed to get a court order this week which means she cannot return.

It is the end of a year-long wrangle for the council, which has been fighting to permanently remove her since last August.

Phil Turner, leader of Basildon Council, said: “The neighbours of Miss Penlington have had to endure so much but this judgment brings closure to the situation and they can all finally move on and get on with their lives in peace."

Miss Penlington was initially chucked out of the home last August after the council got a six month order.

They managed to get an extension to the order in March, which has meant she has not been allowed to return.

But they could not ban her from returning permanently without the court order, which they got from Southend County Court on Wednesday.

That took ages.

Let this be a lesson to anyone being pressurised by a landlord or council. They have to go via the proper channels and its take about a year.

I feel let down that the echo did not use that photo of her lighting a f4rt, this snap shows her face off more...unfortunately for the readers though, what a delectable young lady who looks rather ill and pasty and is a blott on the landscape of humanity.

WE have neighbours from Hell, but they only moved in a month ago, and several neighbours have already complained, but as usual, NOTHING gets done about them.

Broken window late at night, slashed tires a few weeks later, get the mail redirected a week or two after that. Nothing will done when they complain either but I reckon they'll get the message.

Actually, the laws on removing social housing tenants and private tenants is a tad different. It certainly would not take this long for a private landlord to remove tenants. A determined private landlord would have his tenant out within weeks of a terminated tenancy. Also, even though this case involves social housing, it would not normally take this long unless the council has dragged its heels at some point.
